Nigeria: Boko Haram invasion in Maiduguri today



Not less than 70 Boko Haram insurgents were killed by the Nigerian army  and the youth vigilante group today in Maiduguri.

10 innocent civilians were also killed in the attempted invasion of the town, the second in a space of one week.

About 65 persons were killed on last sunday attacks on Maiduguri.

Security sources said that 50 insurgents  were killed in Dalwa, about 20 kilometres from Maiduguri, where the battle was fiercest.

20 insurgents were also killed in other part of Maiduguri where the terrorist also attempted to gain entrance into the town.

 2 Nigerian soldiers were killed, although soldiers lost in the attack might be more, 5 soldiers were seriously injured.

The attacks where from 4 major points of entrance to the Maiduguri,
a source said the insurgents attacked just moments after the early morning Islamic prayers, they launched 2 rocket propelled grenades into Gindari Polo area killing lots of civillians.
