Kenya: Josphat Nanok and county official sue EACC over graft dossier

Turkana Governor Josphat Nanok on Monday sued  the anti-corruption commission for accusing him of paying Sh14 million to unknown contractors to construct a non-existent bridge.

Mr Nanok and Turkana Finance and Economic Planning Executive Paul Nabuin want the High Court in Nairobi to issue orders stopping the publication of the report that President Kenyatta handed to Parliament, claiming it is false.

They accuse the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) of publishing the report without giving them an opportunity to defend themselves.

Since the matter has received publicity in the media, they argue, the EACC has consequently defamed them.

Mr Nanok and Mr Nabuin through lawyer Jotham Arwa, want the EACC barred from publishing the alleged defamatory sections of the dossier pending the hearing and determination of the case,
They further want a public apology from the EACC in two local dailies following the alleged defamation.
