Said Mmaka said his son Said Imrana  was forced into a vehicle by three people while at a relative’s home in Malindi on March 31.

“We have tried calling his phone but it is switched off,” he said. The teacher at Mkunumbi primary school asked the government to intervene and determine whether Imrana was being held by police or criminal gangs.

He said his daughter had recorded a statement over the disappearance of her brother at Malindi police station and officers promised to investigate the matter.

Mmaka who spoke to the press in Lamu town on Saturday added that his son was not a criminal and did not have any issues with anyone.

“My son has a disabled child for whom he was searching for funds to take to India for medication, he just passed by in Malindi to see his mother who is also sick,” he said.
