In a bid to cut cost, the Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has slashed by half the salaries of political officers in the state.
Ganduje gave the order while inaugurating new commissioners into his cabinet.
The officials whose salaries will be slashed are the governor, Deputy Governor, Hafiz Abubakar, all 13 Commissioners and Special Advisers among others.
Ganduje, in explaining the move, lamented that the state and the nation are facing tough economic times hence the need to reduce the remuneration of appointees and elected officials.
