A suspect will be charge to court on Friday for the killing of George Muchai




Interior Cabinet Secretary Joseph Nkaissery said, a suspect arrested over the killing of Kabete MP George Muchai will be charged in court on Friday. Although Nkaissery did not reveal the identity of the suspect who will "face charges related to the murder".



"Investigators have covered significant grounds," he noted during a press briefing outside Parliament buildings on Thursday.Police officers said on Thursday that they were holding three suspects in connection with the killing.

They said they were ready to charge the first one while investigations on the other two continue.CID Director Ndegwa Muhoro confirmed the arrests saying the probe is going on well.“We have made good progress and hope to get all the evidence required for a conviction. We are doing well,” he said.Officials believe Muchai's killers were professionals whose crime was deliberate.

Muchai was killed on Saturday alongside his bodyguards Samuel Kimathi and Lekakeni Matanta and driver Stephen Kimathi on Kenyatta Avenue, Nairobi.He was eulogised as a hardworking leader and a firm, eloquent speaker, who always did what was right, at a requiem mass on Thursday.
