The Police in Michigan has said that a 41-year-old man posted an ad on Craigslist for a submissive woman and used a fake image to lure a young woman to meet him.
The 22-year-old victim agreed to meet the man near his home in Chesaning, Michigan, Us, State Police Lt. David Kaiser said.
The woman got into his car, but she tried to run away when she realized that she had been deceived. However, the man refused to let her go.
“She was assaulted, tied up, gagged and put in the back seat of his car,” Kaiser said.
Officer spotted the car around 3:20 a.m. on Wednesday, weaving in and out of the lane. Police believe that the woman was kicking him from behind, causing him to swerve on the road.
Thinking they had a drunk driver on their hands, officers walked to the window to ask for his license and registration, but soon heard the woman’s muffled screams.
The man had used zip ties to tie the woman’s hands behind her back. He put duct taped on her mouth and pulled a bag over her head, Kaiser said.
The man was arrested on charges of kidnapping and assault by strangulation. The woman refused medical treatment.
State police have not released the suspect’s name, pending arraignment.
Investigators later discovered that the man had used a false name and a throwaway email address on Craigslist.
Fortunately for her, she was not hurt. It would have been a nightmare for police to find the person with whom she communicated over Craigslist, Kaiser said
Detectives seized a laptop from the man in an attempt to see if he victimized any other person.
