Kenya: Deputy President William Ruto condoles with Garissa victims






enyan deputy  President William Ruto has visited victims of the Garissa University College attack that left 147 people dead and several others injured in the Thurday pre - dawn attack.



Ruto made stops at the Kenyatta National referral hospital and the Forces Memorial Hospital along Mbagathi Road.


The DP condoled with them before visiting the Disaster Operation Center set up at Nyayo National Stadium.The Ministry of Health on Saturday said it will cover the cost of treatment for the casualties of the attack that has received national, regional and global condemnation.

The Incident occurred when four militia stormed the Garissa University College at 5am Thursday morning during prayers.

The siege lasted 12 hours with 147 students and staff of the institution being killed while a combined contingent of officers from KDF and the elite Recce squad killed the four gunmen.

Five other people including a Tanzanian were arrested and are being interrogated as police conduct investigations.
