Kenya: Caution on statements on MP Muchai's death

Justin Muturi the National Assembly speaker has urged leaders to be cautious when making statements on the killing of Kabete MP George Muchai.

He said leaders should not be carried away by emotions when commenting matters of insecurity, that they should consider the demage they  are making with what they utter.

Leaders are warned on what you say in public as these people have families and relatives and stop condemning each other without concrete evidence he said.

Let be fair  and respect each other by avoiding condemning and being judgmental.

He urges leaders who claim to have information on the slaining of  MP Muchai , to report to the police. This remark is made a few days after Labour Cabinet Secretary Kazungu Kambi and three MPs publicly stated they had information on Muchai's killing.

The leaders linked the death to Wrangles in the Central Organisation of Trade Union (Cotu).

Mr Kambi on Friday threatened to resign if the killers of Mr Muchai were not prosecuted and that he knew what led to his MP's death.

MPs Alice N'gan'ga (Thika), Francis Waititu (Juja) and Moses Kuria (Gatundu South), during  MP Muchai's burial  on Friday in Kumulu  said they want investigators to look into the fights between  Mr Muchai and other Cotu officials.
