Happy New Year: Australia Celebrates 2016 With Fireworks

New Year's Eve celebrations are kicking off around the world to mark to the start of 2016. Australia welcomed the New Year with an elaborate firework display. Hundreds of thousands of people flocked to Sydney as the sky was illuminated over the harbor.
The display was themed the "city of color," with the bridge as the centerpiece of the show. As the fireworks went off, some of 2015's biggest hits served as the soundtrack for the nearly 15-minute long show. A ceremony honoring Sydney's indigenous peoples was held before the show began, welcoming them to the country, The Guardian reports.
