A huge fire has engulfed a high-rise hotel in central Dubai near the world's tallest skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa.Burning debris could be seen falling from the 300m-tall (1,000-feet) building. The government says there are minor injuries and most of the fire is under control.

Animal Right Supporters Slam Khloe Kardashian For Posing With Baby Tiger in Dubai (PHOTO)
According to reports, Khloe previously got into hot water this week when she posted a photo of herself on Tuesday wearing a niqāb, the traditional Muslim garment that covers a woman’s face.
Some felt Kardashian was trying to make a fashion statement and wasn’t respecting Islamic culture.
In the new picture with the baby tiger, Kardashian puckered up toward the camera as the cub appeared to give her a kiss on the cheek.
Animal rights supporter expressed their anger on Kardashian’s Instagram account, noting that wild animals aren’t supposed to be held in captivity and used as pets.

United Arab Emirates:Thief electrocuted to death while trying to steal electric cable
An Asian thief in Abu Dhabi, was burnt to death after he was electrocuted while trying to steal electric cables from one of the rooms used to supply electricity.
The Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police, Omair Al-Muhairi, said Al Shabia Police Station received information recently about a person who was “electrocuted” inside an electrical room surrounded by a gate and an iron fence.
The police boss said following the tip off, some officials who were deployed to the scene found charred body of the Asian thief surrounded by the cables he had wanted to steal.

United Arab Emirates: Unemployed man who stole charity box in Dubai is jailed
An unemployed 30-year-old Pakistani who was simply identified as TK, was sentenced to six months in prison on charges of armed robbery and damaging property, both of which he denied at the Dubai Criminal Court.
On September 30 last year, Egyptian pharmacy manager T A, 30, said he locked the store at 11.30pm.
