A director of state security serce (DSS) simply identified as Courage was allegedly attacked and beaten silly by some drivers.His clothes were torn to shreds and he had bruises,cuts and blood stains on his body.
The DSS official was said to be on his way to work when the drivers who were molesting other motorists attacked him even when he introduced himself, the angry drivers tried to disarm him of his pistol.
He was punched stoned and clubbed it would have been worst if not for the intervention of his colleague shot in the air severally to scare the mob away.
Trouble started following a dissagreement between the students of the Ekiti state University ,(EKSU) and Akoto drivers over number of passengers on a seat.The Students wants the drivers to reduce the numbers on a seat from four to three.
This resulted on a clash between the student and the drivers who were seen carrying clubs, cudgels and sharp objects to scare passengers and motorists plying the road.
They stopped motorists conveying students from old garage area to the University and ordering them out of the vehicles.However, some officials of the DSS, some Policemen and top officials of EKSU later visited the scene to restore peace in the area.
