Nigeria: Court of Appeal validates Aregbesola’s election as governor

A petition filed by the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2014 governorship election in Osun State,  has been dismissed by the Court of Apeal sitting in Akure, Ondo state, Nigeria, Sen. Iyiola Omisore, challenging the victory of the incumbent, Gov. Rauf Aregbesola.

The Appellate court, which threw out Omisore’s petition on Thursday, went on to affirm the election of Aregbesola of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as validly elected governor of Osun State.
