Jada Pinkett Smith talks open marriage and trust

Jada Pinkett Smith while talking  about her 17-year marriage to husband Will Smith admitted that, to keep their trust alive, the pair openly talk about their crushes on co-stars. 

Rumours about Will, 46, and Jada, 43, being in an open marriage were triggered a couple of years ago after she told Oprah Winfrey that if Will wanted to go with another woman then he could "as long as he could look at himself in the mirror."

Jada said: "Here's the deal. You've got to trust who you're with.

 And at the end of the day, I'm not here to be anybody's watcher. I'm not his watcher. He's a grown man. Here's what I trust - I trust that the man that Will is, is a man of integrity.

"So, he's got all the freedom in the world. As long as Will can look himself in the mirror and be okay, I'm good. He is a man of great integrity and he is fine."Asked if Will told Jada about his crushes on set with other stars Jada said he absolutely does. 

"Absolutely. You have to in this business!" she exclaimed. "Because I'm going to know anyway. Here's what's real: I'm not the kind of woman that believes a man is not going to be attracted to another woman.

"It does not mean he doesn't love you and it does not mean he is going to act on it. 

"If he can't see another woman's beauty how is he going to see yours. You have got to be human and you've got to be who you are. He was on the road as a young guy and there is a lot that you learn about acting on your impulses, you kind of run out," she added.

Jada also admitted that she would advise her children Willow, 14, and Jaden, 16, against getting married so young as she was just 25 when she wed Will saying: "I was young, too young, heck yeah, don't do it," she joked she'd tell them.

"It worked out I have a husband who is a gangster partner - from age 25 to 44, can you imagine? We have travelled a lot of roads, you got to be strong but it takes work. 

Asked who she'd date if "something tragic happened to Will" Jada said: "I wouldn't do Hollywood again and I don't think I'd get married again. I'd have companions. I tell Will that all the time," she joked.

Jada plays a club owner in Magic Mike XXL which is going to be out July 3.
