According to the spokesperson for the Overland Park Police Department, Sgt. Gary Mason, “…she was very apologetic and remorseful, and that does go a long way, so I think it does help in this situation.”“Everybody has a story. There is always a lot of reasons why people do this, and it’s not for us to decide. It’s up to the court and the judge to look at her case,” he said.
Mason also stated that the reason for the theft is yet to be ascertained and remains unsure whether she stole the goods or not as no money was found on her as at the time of her apprehension“This certainly isn’t the way to go about it. Now she’s going to have some legal problems that she’s going to have to deal with,” Mason stated.
