#NigeriaDecides: explosion struck a polling station in Awka

An explosion struck a polling station at Umuokpara primary school in the eastern Nigerian city of Awka earlier this morning but the police have claimed there were no casualties.



“No lives were lost and none injured. The police bomb squad has moved in,” Uche Eze, police spokesman for Anambra state, said.

In a similar situation, a bomb also allegedly went off in Enugu, Nigeria, at WTC Primary school Polling Unit; 1, New Layout, Enugu. This led to disruption of the voting process as INEC officials and voters alike all scampered for safety. ( Read story here)
