Nigeria general elections: Boko Haram terrorists kill 2 at Gombe polling units

Boko Haram terrorists have reportedly launched an attack on polling units in Gombe State leaving two people dead, residents say.

This occured as residents gathered to vote in the Nigerian general elections at the Birin Bolawa and  Birin Fulani area of the state AFP reports.

“We could hear the gunmen shouting, ‘Didn’t we warn you about staying away from (the) election?” an election official, who chose to remain anonymous said.

Boko Haram insurgents had earlier handed out fliers in the state warning residents against voting during the elections.
