Col. Azem Agouna, army spokesperson has said that Children who had been abducted by
terror Boko Haram sect and forced to be trained as soldiers were
rescued by Chadian military.
He stated in N’djamena that the children, who are aged 12 and older and are Chadian nationals, were rescued in the Nigerian town of Damasak, in North-Eastern Borno.
The town was controled by Boko Haram insurgents until Chadian and Nigerian troops retake the town in early March.
Army spokesperson said the children managed to escape during the clashes between the terrorists and soldiers, while the local families assisted them to hide from the insurgents.
He revealed that when it was certain that Boko Haram had been overcame and would not back to Damasak, the children came out of their hiding places and called on Chadian security forces for help.

The spokesperson added the army would look into how and when Boko Haram kidnapped the children from Chad.
