Bomb blast kills at least 10 in Chad market - Witnesses

An explosion has killed at least ten people in the main market in Chad's capital N'Djamena early on Saturday.
No group immediately claimed responsibility but Boko Haram, the Islamist militant group based in neighbouring Nigeria, has carried out a series of bomb and gun attacks in Chad in recent months.
At least ten bodies were seen lying near the market's entrance where aid workers helped injured people into ambulances.

Boko Haram claims responsibility for June suicide bombings in Chad capital

The dreaded Boko Haram sect have claimed responsibility for twin suicide bombings in Chad’s capital N’Djamena that left 38 people dead, the SITE Intelligence Group reported Wednesday.

In a statement in Arabic posted on Twitter, the jihadist group identified two suicide bombers who it said carried out the June 15 attacks, the first in the capital of a country that has taken a leading role in a regional offensive against Nigeria-based Boko Haram.

France condemed Boko Haram attacks on chad

Paris condemned Monday’s blasts on Chad police where Twenty-three people were killed and  101 wounded with a foreign ministry spokesman saying France “stands alongside Chad and its partners in the fight against terrorism”.

Chad is a close ally of France in its counter-terrorism Operation Barkhane in five countries in the Sahel region and the French army has set up its headquarters for the campaign in N’Djamena.

Last week, Abuja hosted a summit where Nigeria and fellow coalition members plus Benin rubber-stamped an 8,700-strong regional force to replace the current four-nation grouping.

Boko Haram kill 23 and 101 wounded in suicide bombings on Chad police

No fewer than Twenty-three people were killed and  101 wounded in a simultaneous suicide bombings outside the police headquarters and police academy in N’Djamena the Chadian capital on Monday.

They were the first such attacks in the capital of the central African nation, which has been on the frontline of the regional fight against the Nigerian Boko Haram Islamist group.

“Boko Haram chose the wrong target. These lawless and faithless terrorists will be flushed out and neutralised wherever they are,” the government said in a statement.

43 Chadian Child Soldiers Rescued From Boko Haram

Col. Azem Agouna, army spokesperson  has said that Children who had been abducted by terror Boko Haram sect and forced to be trained as soldiers were rescued by Chadian military. 

He stated in N’djamena that the children, who are aged 12 and older and are Chadian nationals, were rescued in the Nigerian town of Damasak, in North-Eastern Borno.
