The Nigerian Super Eagles began thier AFCON 2017 qualifiers on a positive note as they beat Visiting Chad National team 2 goals to nil.
The Nigerian side which field some promising homebased players, arguably didnt get off the mark during the first half of the match, with the visitors showing some brilliance.
The second half however saw the awakening of the Eagles when in the 63rd minute Gbolahan Salami stuck in Nigeria's first goal, then in the 79th minute Odion Ighalo extended Nigeria's lead from the penalty spot, after being brought down in the eitheen yard box.
Nigeria's Ogenyi Onazi during the match was sent off for a rough challenge on a Chad player.
