Boko Haram Insurgents Overpower Soldiers And Took Over Thier Base In Baga Town


According to the Sunday Trust Newspaper, suspected members of the Islamic sect Boko Haram have struck again this time over powering the Nigerian Army and seizing thier base in Baga.


This occured after a fierce battle. Local residents who witnessed the siege said the Boko Haram terrorist overpowered the military personels stationed at the based which forced them to abandon their post.


The said Military base was originally established tin 1998 to combat cross-border criminal activities, but was latter extended into fighting the Boko Haram insurgents with the formation of the Multinational Joint Task Force.

Baga which is located on the Nigerian- Chad border, has seen most of it's fear stricken residents pour into neighbouring Chad Republic to seek refuge.
