Nigerian Doctor And Wife Jailed In The UK For Keeping A Slave For 24 Years

Remember the Nigerian  doctor and his nurse wife who kept a man in forced servitude for almost a quarter of a century after illegally bringing him to Britain. (Read here)They have both been jailed for six years.Former NHS obstetrician Emmanuel Edet, 61, and midwife Antan Edet, 58, kept fellow Nigerian Ofonime Sunday Inuk as a ‘houseboy’ after telling immigration officials he was their teenage son when they arrived Britain in 1989.

UK: Nigerian man stabbed to death when he went to sell his laptop to a man he met on Gumtree

A Nigerian teaching assistant who mentored troubled children and campaigned against knife crime has been stabbed to death while selling a laptop to a man he met on Gumtree. police said.
Michael Adegbite, 28, was killed after three teenagers tried to rob him during a meet-up he had arranged in order to hand over the computer.

Underground stations being closed was a  sight to make any London commuter’s heart sink .It  happened on  Wednesday evening across the network as a strike by staff and drivers took hold.Four unions – the RMT, TSSA, Unite and Aslef – have walked out after talks with management collapsed over pay and new night-time services.

12 year old boy is arrested on suspicion of trying to rape an eight-year-old boy


A 12-year-old schoolboy has been arrested on suspicion of trying to rape an eight-year-old boy in the UK.

Specially-trained officers then spoke to the younger boy and began an investigation into an attempted rape.
The boy has since been released on bail pending further inquiries.Greater Manchester Police have released a statement confirming that the incident was not a random stranger attack.

One migrant killed at the Channel Tunnel while trying to board a moving freight train


An Eritrean migrant was reportedly killed on the French side of the Channel Tunnel after trying to board a moving freight train to England.

The man died after attempting to get on a train at Coquelles, according to firefighters quoted by the daily Le Parisien newspaper.
The shocking incident comes in the week that Calais descended into chaos as the Channel Tunnel was shut due to French ferry workers strike.

Emmanuel Kalejaiye, Psycho' killer who stabbed his mother to death then dressed up in a pink track suit to make neighbours think she was still alive is jailed for life


A Nigerian cross-dressing Psycho-style killer who killed his mother in a frenzied attack has been jailed for life.
Emmanuel Kalejaiye, 22, stabbed his mother, Tolu Kalejaiya, more than 40 times at their home in Wickford, Essex, in September 2013.

He then dressed up in a women's tracksuit to try and fool neighours into thinking she was still alive, the court heard.


In a case with strong echoes of the 1960 Alfred Hitchcock film - in which killer Norman Bates impersonated his dead mother - the prosecution alleged Kalejaiye had planned to commit the 'perfect murder' by killing the 44-year-old before dressing up as her to allow himself precious time to dispose of her body.

UK: How Stowaway falls to his death from jet as it approaches Heathrow after 11-hour journey from South Africa but a second one survives

A suspected stowaway has died on the roof of a London office block after plunging from a jumbo jet as it approached Heathrow Airport.

The man's body was discovered yesterday morning on  top of the offices of NotOnTheHighStreet.com, which is on a busy road in the south-west of the capital.
Another stowaway survived the 8,000-mile flight from South Africa before being taken to hospital, where he is now fighting for his life.

UK: Bomb scare as a 'Burka-clad white man' is arrested after police detonate suspect package in Watford town centre


A white man dressed in burka has been arrested after police detonated a suspect package in Watford town centre in UK.
Police officers were called to a street close to the Hertfordshire town's main shopping area just after 11am today following reports a suspicious item had been found outside a Travelodge hotel. 

The man is believed to have been carrying two rucksacks - one branded with children's TV character Peppa Pig - although it is not known whether these were were the ones destroyed.

Michelle Obama Talks About her Let Girls Learn campaig in London



As part of her visit,Michelle Obama visited  the Mulberry School for Girls in Tower Hamlets, east London, where she was met with a heartfelt embrace from pupils. 

Reports state the school's student population is 'nearly all of Bangladeshi heritage, with a very small minority from other backgrounds'.

On her arrival at the school she was treated to a performance of interpretative dance and song from the schoolgirls, who are aged between 11 and 18.

As part of her two-day visit to Britain.Michelle Obama met Prime Minister David Cameron and his wife Samantha at 10 Downing Street todoy.


The US First Lady was accompanied in central London by her daughters, Malia, 16, and 14-year-old Sasha and her mother, Marian Robinson.

She is in the UK to help highlight her campaign to get more of the world's poorest girls get educated and make it 'an urgent economic issue'.
