Ireland votes on same-sex marriage



A report said on Friday in Dublin that people are to vote Yes or No to an amendment to the constitution which states, “Marriage may be contracted in accordance with law by two persons without distinction as to their sex.”

It said polling stations opened at 7am and are scheduled to remain open until 10pm. It said more than 3.2 million people in the mainly Catholic country are entitled to vote, with over 60,000 new voters registering in recent weeks.

According reports,  fears have been raised by those opposed to same-sex marriage over surrogacy and children’s rights to access to fathers.

Luxemburg: Prime minister Xavier Bettel marries his gay partner




Luxembourg Prime Minister. Xavier Bettel married his gay partner on Friday, a year after same sex marriages was approved in the country.

Prime Minister Bettel, 42,  tied the knot with Gauthier Destenay, a Belgian architect.The prime minister, wearing a navy blue suit, and his partner, dressed in a dark grey suit, held hands as they arrived for the low key ceremony at the Luxembourg town hall, where around 100 well-wishers applauded them.

India: Groom dumped on wedding day for failing maths test


The police in Uttar Pradesh, says an Indian bride walked out of her wedding after her groom to be failed to solve a simple mathematical problem.The bride called off the marriage when she asked the groom a simple addition of 15 + 6, which he failed by giving his answer as 17.

India: Bride dumped groom for a guest during marraige ceremony






Everything was going well until the day of the wedding. Just when the groom, 25-year-old Jugal Kishore, lifted his arms to put the "varmala" (garland for the wedding) around 23-year-old Indira's neck, he had an epileptic fit and fell to the ground.
