Witchcraft killings: Nine arrested for hacking to death of 6 family members
Nine people in eastern India have been arrested for hacking
to death six members of a family who they accused of practising
witchcraft and making village children sick, a senior police official in Odisha, India, said on Wednesday.
The
couple and their six children were reportedly sleeping in their mud home in a village in Odisha's Keonjhar district when a mob armed with axes
broke in and attacked them early on Monday.

Poor And Homeless Met Police Violence When They fight for their rights in India's Mumbai
Residents of a settlement called Mandala on the outskirts of India’s financial capital, Mumbai were rendered homeless when police evicted them on June 30th, and when the residents of this slum protested calling for the right to affordable housing, they were met with violent police action.
The authorities then proceeded to break down their makeshift structures in Mankhurd on the premise that they needed to protect the mangroves that border the settlement. However, a day after the eviction it was reported that the land was being handed over to the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority to build a Metro Rail yard.

India: Rapist politician and police officers charged with murder for burning a jounalist alive
An Indian journalist, Jagendra Singh who accused a high ranking Minister of corruption and rape, has been burnt alive by five police officers who were paid to carry out the hatchet job.
According to reports, the police have charged Minister Ram Murti Verma and the police officers with the murder of the journalist who was found burned to death just days after accusing the politician of rape on Facebook.

India bans Maggi noodles
The Indian food safety regulator said that tests have found Nestle India's Maggi instant noodle products are "unsafe and hazardous".
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India accused Nestle of failing to comply with food safety laws.Nestle withdrew the Maggi brand from stores, after regulators found higher-than-allowed levels of lead in some packets.
But the company insists the noodles are safe.
Maggi is the market leader in India, where a packet costs 12 rupees.

People are begining to be scared in Kathmandu after another powerfull earthquake in less than three weeks, Casualty statistics have started to arrive from the scene of the second quake and so far, no fewer than 32 people have been reported dead while 1,006 are said to be injured.
Also in neighbouring Indian state, Bihar, 3 people died after a wall collapsed from the effect of the earthquake.

Mahatma Gandhi statue unveiled in London
Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley unveiled the statue of Mahatma Gandhi on Saturday. He was accompanied on a specially erected stage, surrounded by British and Indian flags by British Prime Minister David Cameron, Gandhi’s grandson Gopalkrishna Gandhi, British Culture Minister Sajid Javid, Amitabh Bachchan, and Lord and Lady Desai, founding trustees of the Gandhi Statue Memorial Trust.
The nine foot bronze statue of Gandhi was created by Phillip Jackson, a renowned British sculptor, and will stand in the company of Nelson Mandela, Winston Churchill, and Abraham Lincoln, among others.

Superstar actor Aamir Khan has apologised to those who may have been offended by his last film PK saying there was no intention by the makers to hurt religious sentiments of anyone.
The film, which received rave reviews and set the box office on fire, earned the ire of several groups, who claimed PK hurt the sentiments of the people. The film took a dig at godmen and religious practices.
