Vatican Dismissed Gay Priest

Monsignor Krzystof Charamsa was removed from his position at the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, the Vatican's doctrinal arm where he had worked since 2003, a statement said.

Charamsa, 43, and a Polish theologian, announced he was gay and had a partner in a long interview with Italy's Corriere della Sera newspaper on Saturday.

A pastor identified as Sam Ekeh, was on Tuesday arraigned before a Yaba Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State for allegedly stealing the sum of N16 million. 58-year-old Ekeh was arraigned on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, perverting the cause of justice and theft.

Muslim Council says violence in Taraba was caused by land dispute not religion

The Chairman, Muslim Council in Taraba, Alhaji Inuwa Manu, has urged Muslim faithful to use the Ramadan to demonstrate love and peaceful coexistence among different religious adherents in the state.

He said the call became imperative following activities of miscreants who were bent on causing public disturbances in the name of religion in the state.

Dozens of migrants trapped in Italy are marking the holy month of Ramadan on the rocks near the beach.

The migrants who are mainly of Eritreans origin were turned back from the French border and have been left stranded along the coast in the town of Ventimiglia which is a  border town between France and Italy.

Bangladesh: Another blogger, Ananta Bijoy Das hacked to death

Police in Bangladesh has said that a secular blogger has been hacked to death in north-eastern part of the countr.

This is the  third such deadly attack since the start of the year.

Ananta Bijoy Das was attacked by a masked gang wielding machetes in the city of Sylhet, reports say.

Mr Das wrote blogs for Mukto-Mona, a website once moderated by Avijit Roy, himself hacked to death in February.
